What are the opening hours?
The Model Village is open daily all year round 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. There is extended opening for the summer months of July and August 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Last entry is one hour before closing.
When does the Road Train run?
Road Train Tours run daily for the summer months (mid May – mid September). For the winter months tours run weekends, midterm breaks and Bank Holidays. Tours are subject to change, please check our social media for updates.
Do I have to book online?
There is no need to prebook tickets before your visit. If you would prefer to book online you can visit the link below. Tickets can also be purchased when you arrive at the Model Village Ticket Office. Tickets for the Christmas event must be purchased online.
Is the Model Village accessible?
All the facilities onsite are fully accessible to wheelchairs, buggies and prams. The pathways around miniature West Cork and the station building are wheelchair friendly.
The Road Train tour is also accessible to wheelchair users. Please ask at the Ticket Office for more information.
There are disabled toilets and baby changing facilities available onsite.
Is the Model Village Autism Friendly?
The West Cork Model Railway Village is an Autism Friendly Champion. Staff received training in order to become an Autism Friendly Champion. We have a Relaxation Box located at the Ticket Office for visitors to use. The Model Village is service dog-friendly.
Are dogs allowed in the Model Village?
Only assistance/service dogs are allowed within the Model Village. Other dogs are unfortunately not permitted.
Is there a Café onsite?
The Village Café is located on site and serves a selection of tea, coffee and cakes. There are also beverages and ice-cream available.
